  1. Elephant Rehabilitation and Retirement Home – Here you can feed elephants, admire them from a safe distance, and get to know the stories of how each elephant came to the retirement home.
  2. Bang Niang Market – The most popular market in Khao Lak, this local market comes alive at night. Don’t forget to try local Thai food and buy some souvenirs here. In addition, there’re international restaurants, ran by Khao Lak’s Western ex-pats provide you an Italian, Mexican, and other European foods.
  3. Ton Chong Fah Waterfall – This is a trip you can do yourself. It takes only 20-30 minutes, which you can follow a small path. There’re 5 levels. At the first level, you can just stop here as it’s worth the trip for sure because there are beautiful surroundings on the way to the waterfall. But it‘s nicer to take a swim in the water when you go up to the top.
  4. Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park – At this huge park, you can discover nature in the jungle and the small sandy beach. It’s worth exploring if you have a chance. We do recommend you to wear proper shoes for nature path trails.
  5. Sai Rung Waterfall – “Sai Rung” means “rainbow” in Thai. The waterfall is seven levels high but you can only access one level. To get to the top, it takes less than 5 minutes. The natural pools with crystal clear water are great for swimming and it’s worth it for trekking. The parking fee is only about THB 20.
  6. Takua Pa Old Town – This is the historic location that used to be one of the largest trading posts along the Andaman coast, serving as a tin-dredging area. The town operated tin mines as late as 1967. By 2008, mining has disappeared as the locals are replaced by rubber plantations instead.  For tourists, Takua Pa Old Town is a great place to see the beautiful architecture of the Sino-colonial Period.  A stroll down, there’re many Chinese shophouses that belong to families who lived there for generations.  On Sundays, a market is held on the main street, which you can enjoy local foods, drinks, and desserts.
  7. Elephant Fly Zipline – Let’s get some exciting experience to enjoy the jungle canopy on an adventure through the evergreen rainforest. Go up to the treetops and enjoy the breathtaking landscape views of Khao Lak National Park.
  8. Similan National Park – There’re a lot of water creature species and beautiful coral and many spots for snorkeling. Moreover, you will have a chance to meet the sea turtles here!
  9. Wat Khrom Me Nee Ya Khet – The temple exterior and interior has beautiful architecture design. There are lots of golden Buddha statues in the courtyard including a large reclining Buddha, which is the highlight here. As with any place of worship, dress and act are need to be proper respectfully.
  10. Cheow Lan Lake and Rachaphrapha Dam – This is off from Phang Nga, but we do recommend this amazing place to you to add to your bucket lists to explore the beautiful lake, caves, and pillars by a long-tailed boat.
  11. Tham Phung Chang – Phung Chang means elephant belly in Thai. To discover this cave is by boat, raft, and walk. There’s a local guide to take you inside. Make sure you also have look around Wat Pra Paht Pra Jim Temple because it is a very beautiful one.
